MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
As founder of the Pride and Remembrance Run, the Pride and Remembrance Association, and the Pride and Remembrance Foundation, I’m very pleased to welcome you to the Foundation’s website.
In 2026, the Run celebrated its 30th anniversary. What began in 1996 with 324 participants and $8,000 raised has grown into a much-loved Pride tradition. Over the years, runners, walkers, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and friends have helped raise more than $4 million for dozens of charities serving 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
For me, the Run has always been about much more than a race. It is about remembering those who came before us, celebrating who we are, bringing people together, and giving something back. It has also always been strictly non-partisan and apolitical, welcoming people from across the community around a shared purpose.
For many years, the Foundation was generously hosted on the Association’s website. We are deeply grateful to the Association for giving us a home and for the close partnership that has allowed both organizations to grow and support the community.
This new website gives the Foundation a home of its own, where we can share the work of the organizations we support and show the difference our community continues to make.
I hope you’ll take some time to explore the site and learn more about the remarkable charities and projects that benefit from the Run.
Together, we honour the past, celebrate the present, and help build a brighter future.

Founder & President
